Garden & Balcony: How to create your own green oasis of well-being

As soon as the sun shines and temperatures rise, the patio, garden, and balcony become our favorite places to be. Whether you have plenty of space or just a few square feet of open area, any spot can be transformed into a green oasis of well-being. All it takes are a few tips and garden ideas from Lidl.

The Basics: How can you design your garden and balcony?

Comfortable seating and lush greenery – that's all you need to start creating a new favorite spot for the summer:

  • Balcony & garden furniture invites you to lounge, dine together, sunbathe, and relax. Lidl offers matching furniture and sets, whether made of wood, polyrattan, or metal.
  • Beautiful plants do more than just provide natural privacy. They offer shade, improve the air, and make the best summer decoration. Whether for the balcony, indoors, or the garden – you'll find exactly what you need with us!

When space is limited on the balcony or patio, one rule applies: Having enough seating for the whole family is more important than a large table. Folding chairs and tables are true space-savers. Meanwhile, plants thrive not only in garden beds or flower pots, but also in hanging baskets or raised beds on walls.

A beautiful garden: What do I need?

A large garden offers plenty of space for wellness oases and secret retreats. It doesn't always have to be one large seating area for everyone – small seating groups, hammocks, or garden benches in different spots invite you to linger. Garden favorites include:

  • Garden houses as a mini-vacation home in your own backyard, or tool sheds
  • Gazebos for garden parties, sun protection, a spot for the grill, weather protection ...
  • Fences to define your property line and frame garden beds, patios, etc.
  • Sun & privacy protection for privacy and a healthy summer season

Just like decorating a living room or bedroom, it is the lighting and garden decor that truly create a cozy feeling. Anything you like goes! Need some inspiration? Simply click on our product worlds. How do I care for my garden and balcony?

Just letting nature take its course? That only works up to a certain point. Plants, as well as garden and balcony furniture, need a little care to withstand the wind, weather, and climate.

  1. Garden tools and equipment – whether electric or hand tools – help with planting and repotting, removing leaves, and supporting trees and shrubs as they sprout and bear fruit. The larger the green and garden areas, the more useful electric helpers become.
  2. Balcony & garden furniture should be thoroughly cleaned before storing and after setting up. Dirt, dust, or moss can eat into the materials and affect durability. Don't feel like using a cloth and bucket? Then pressure washers are the ideal choice.
  3. Leaves on trees? Beautiful. Leaves on garden beds, walkways, or lawns? Better not. Dead leaves form a slippery layer on paths, cut off the oxygen supply to the soil, and can disrupt the biological balance of garden ponds. The most important care task in autumn is therefore: get ready with leaf rakes, leaf blowers, leaf vacuums, and leaf bags! The collected green waste goes straight onto the compost to provide humus for the next planting season.

Tip: Is the rain keeping you waiting again? Watering is the most important foundation for healthy plant life. There are different systems available for various needs and plant types. Click now and find out more!
